More In Music is a multi-faceted nonprofit founded with the aim of making the music industry more accessible and to provide a network of education, mentorship, and support for current professionals. As the organization plans its first More In Music Conference in Spring 2025, it announces the composition of its Advisory Board for 2024-25. A diverse complement of artists, veteran executives, and current industry professionals, the More In Music board is perfectly suited to execute More In Music’s mission to educate the public about music career paths, inspire the next generation of music industry leaders, and create a culture of empowerment formed through shared experience and personal connection.
Led by More In Music’s founder, industry vet Noelle Chesnut Whitmore, the More In Music Advisory Board features five legacy advisors, a host of bridge advisors, and three future gen advisors. The group of legacy advisors includes Cheryl “Salt” James, the legendary rapper and one half of Salt-N-Pepa and Damien Smith of Full Stop Management and Parkwood Entertainment. The group of bridge advisors includes GRAMMY-nominated singer-songwriter Kenyon Dixon, as well as professionals from respected companies like Columbia, Interscope, Live Nation, The Orchard, and more. The future gen advisors are two current college students and a recent college grad, who will get hands-on industry experience working with the board as well as many other industry professionals.
The More In Music Advisory Board will be instrumental in supporting the cohort in planning the inaugural More In Music Conference, slated for Spring 2025 in Los Angeles. The multi-day Conference will include panel conversations, workshops and keynotes from a diverse complement of the music industry’s most influential leaders.
