Making hits and trending on social media is like second nature to Sexyy Red, making her one of the it girls of the golden era of female rap. Taking it back to the MySpace and Juicy Couture era, the St. Louis baddie shares the video for her Billboard-charting single “Get It Sexyy.”
Directed by Des Gray, the new video feels like a cut you’d find on BET’s “106 & Park” playlist back in the day. Sexyy brings it back to the ‘00s, dressing in tall tees and putting her own twist on early-internet dance challenges. One of the internet’s earliest viral stars Soulja Boy also makes an appearance in the intro, helping Sexyy develop a dance just as addicting as “Crank Dat.” The star-studded video includes appearances from a self-deprecating Drake, who appears as Sexyy’s date at a roller-skating rink, along with additional cameos from Adin Ross, Rob49, Wizz Havinn, Fabo, Tay Keith and more.
